When ever I press the brake pedal on my p38 diesel auto....

The three lights (hand brake, TC e.t.c) which come on on start up light up....

And also the brake pump makes a loud noise....each time I press it....

Any ideas??

Thanks

Silly question......

Check earth connection on battery, fuse box??

Also can the accumulator be cleaned? Or would it just need changing?

Also is it dangerous that it is happening?

You'd have to be very lucky

Your lack of knowledge is slightly scary. Accumulators can only be changed.

Yes, you have at least one fault in your braking system.

You, at least, need a new accumulator as soon as possible. You may have a fault in your brake pump. Please get this checked before you lose your brakes completely. I'm not joking, it's a possibility.

If pump comes on every time you brake accumulator needs replacing. ASAP. See what you have after you do that. Pump should not make a loud noise maybe it's getting tired.

I have had those three light coming on momentarily with every press the brake pedal.

I was also getting my brake pump running after every press.

I replaced the accumulator and that fixed it. Been good ever since.

I did not have the lights but the pump would run after every press of the brake pedal, new accumaltor fixed it pump runs every 3 to 5 brake applications now.
