Hi all,
I bought a Discovery 2 ES last week; TD5 auto in great condition and got it for a pretty good price.

However, I've had a couple of electrical faults:

First, I had the 'Sport' mode and 'Manual' lights come on on the dash. Switching the thing off and on again got rid of these and they've not come back since. This happened when I first started from cold and put it into drive.

I've also been getting what appears to be a really common issue with the ABS, TCI and HDC lights coming on. Might be mistaken but I think the issue comes on when I apply the brakes.

Looking around, the latter issue can be caused by all sorts. Is there anything I can actually take a look at myself, or do I need the fault code from the dealer?

Have I bought a lemon?!

Thanks in advance!

sounds allright ,gearbox lights could just be low battery voltage ,but i would find someone to read codes for abs or you could buy a hawkeye or similar yourself probably around £250 and check your self handy for future use

Thanks for the encouragement!

Well, I took it to a dealership and it came back with an 'unknown error code'. The chap there thought that 9 times out of 10 this would be the modulator itself. Obviously, ABS sensors and whatnot will all come up with their own errors.

They said also that it's not worth purchasing a second hand unit as you're more than likely going to get more problems, but there might be places online that can confirm the unit is faulty or even repair them if you send them over?

Bit of a nightmare. I'm really not keen on blowing a £1000+ on a new unit - do you recon this might be worth a try: ABS Mod - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's hard to believe that the error is unknown...unless they used an unproper scanner.... anyway that mod is the best thing u can do to get rid of SVS generated 3 amigos.... any other fault will get them on though
