Bit confused on this one. Had a problem with the dash lights where they wouldn't illuminate when you turned the headlights on. I traced it to the cigarette lighter light which when connected would cause the lights to go out. Eventually I ran a feed to the light in the window switch to get it working and it's been fine for months. then this morning turned the lights on, dash lit up for a second and then went out. Now I'm going to look at the tail as my first port of call but what was causing this to happen in the first place as it was only this bulb when attached to the lighter?

Bad earth is a possibility.

Found. Same bulb. Connector had spun round and touched the cig lighter again cauing the original issue. I’d really like to trace the fault properly at some point
