hi,

i've got a discovery 1 300tdi and none of the dash lights work around the heater controls. the speedo etc all works fine.

i've checked the fuses under the steering wheel and the fuses under the bonnet.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

Steve

bit weird but could happen, or maybe one or two bulbs went, you didn't notice and then only realised when the last one died, it's just an idea. I always start with the simplest solutions first.

Same issue myself. It's fixed by pushing the panel in. Suggest loose connection somewhere.

thats more my line of thinking, a loose connection, or something unplugged. just wondered if anyone had an idea of whats best to look for.

can that panel with the heater controlls be removed on its own?

steve

Dash lights? or heater control illumination?

Heater control there's only one bulb just pull the two heat dials and speed slider knob remove screws and then the plate replace bulb with a 1.2watt capless. Job Done.

Useful thread, glad I found it, confirmed what I thought and had read in the manual, "pop the front off then just pull the bulb out" however...
Is there a tiny clip on the bulb I can't see? What's the expected resistance on the blighter? Mine is really hanging on in there.

No clips only the two wire terminals of the bulb.
If the bulb was fitted in the factory no doubt that there would be some resistance in removing it, adding to that all there’s to grip is the glass, best of luck with removing it. A piece of plastic/rubber pipe placed over the bulb should be able to free it.
The bulb holder can be reached after a few more screws are removed to get deeper into the control panel.

I vaguely remember mine being really tight, then it turned out you just push it in, in order for it to then pop out.. I think
