After a breif bit of trial and error I renewed the brake light switch plus brake lamp bulbs to cure the problem, but with no avail.

If you press the brake pedal with the slightest of pressure the whole of the instrument cluster goes off along with the Climate control.

As soon as you lift the pedal it goes back to normal with the warning lights dissapperaing a few seconds later.

Brake lights still work during this time but if the indicators are in use they go off whilst my foot is on the pedal.

Has this happened to anyone else or can anyone point me in the right direction?

Strange!!

Cheers.

Sounds like something is shorting through the brakelight wiring, has anyone added any non standard wiring that could be bridging to the brakelight circuit? or replaced any dash screws with ones that are too long and have cut into a couple of wires?

Nope.

Just started the other day.
Over the last couple of days it will now and again not fault, but their doesn't seem to be any pattern.
If you take out the switch it wont fault.
I would of thought it their was a short that it would blow a fuse etc, but stand corrected?

That would suggest that it could well be a short, because when you remove the switch you're removing the currents ability to run to ground through the brakelight circuit, hence no problem. I'd look for a short/bridge somewhere on the upstream (power) side of the switch not the earth side, if it were the earth side then removing the switch wouldn't make a difference.
