Hi I bought my 51 ES softtop, in Janaury and after two weeks the first problem occurred on the dash that the descend down hill light came on, when the button wasnt pressed on. Then last night whilst in traffic, the speedo stopped working and all the lights came on including hand brake light. when I stopped the car and restarted again all the lights went off, is this a common problem and I do I need to get it to a garage, as I need this car to be reliable. I love this car and would hate to get rid of it soooo soon after buying it.

reet then nikky. . .fink that ya first problem could be an old one go into search for hd problem,
summit ta do wif the h/brake i fink, the instruments are derived from the instrument control and that talks wiff the ecm but without goin too deep, its fed via a fuse f8=15amp un f16=10amp in ya cab fuse box,now one or both of these could be weak or loose or corroded check em. . .however jist a hunch that the original fault hd could lead to wires near hand brake these could be shortin and it just so happens to be from same circuit,so worth a sniff. . . .oh un best oh luck earthling. . .
