Hi i have tried the search and also look through old threads, i cant find anything to do with this,
is it easy to change the back lights on the dash to make it brighter?
thanks in advance
:)

I am also interested - cant see my dials at night. Have seen guys on fleabay selling LED kits that they claim are just a case of plugging into the bulb holder....any views on those? I have a 1984 90.

It's quite simple. Each dial has a bulb which just clips into a mount in the back of the dail.

If i remember correctly from my bulkhead swap...
There is a bit of dismantling to the dash required. Removing the side facia and undo the dail and warning light cluster, from this point i think you can just pull the bulbs out.

Not tried installing new bulbs so can't comment on the effect of brighter bulbs.

Hi I have done this , just got a set of lovely blue bulbs for all dash back lights, ( little led type things) which use less energy and seem to be brighter too! search on ebay should reveal bulbs, in many colours, which just pop straight in, after you have opened dash and fiddled about abit!
Hope that helps

Cool - if you do get some can you let me know how you got on. I have had the binnacle off before (the pod with the speedo etc on) - just four screws on mine two each side and it pops off. Its a bit fiddly to get your hand in there as all the cables are connected to the back of the dials but its not too bad.

Did mine using pre wired 5mm led's from ebay. I just cut the existing wires and connected up the led's. I also drilled a small hole very carefully through the green dome.

Used the same led's for my interior lights as well.
