morning all, Happy new year, I have a 2005 freelander 1 and have noticed condensation inside windscreen( heater works ok no loss fluid) also rear passenger side seat and seat belt showing signs of mould(we have had loads of rain) cannot remember last dry day?My land rover 2a was like it but it was a metal box so to speak no creature comforts this norm for the 1 or could it be cabin filter issues like the2(been looking through other posts on here)

I've tried cat litter in tights and also them dehumidifier things from b&m but just doesn't seem to shift it but car is not wet anywhere that I can find , but I have removed the cabin filter as I bought a full filter kit just not got around to fitting yet due to weather conditions the only other thing is the passenger front outer window seal is distorted i think the wind deflector was the cause as its warped the seal outwards another job on my endless list

mines as dry as a bone too its just 1st thing in morning condensation on windscreen and bit off damp on seat belt and seat in rear.

Also check the roof liner is bone dry front to rear as there could be a leak path from the Ariel or the rear window plastic thing

Probably getting into the heating and ventilation system under the back of the bonnet.
Fairly common issue on Fords for 30 years.
Try cleaning out the water drains in the plastic panel under the back of the bonnet.
But if it doesn't work, don't worry about it too much, heat usually dries it out when the engine is fully warmed up, and it rarely causes serious problems.
You are most likely correct, the plastic scuttle trim is a bit old and cracked now and the pollen filter is underneath that.

Could be Freelander interior keep the heat well enough. So as the outside temperature drops, the inside creates humidity having lots of glass ego greenhouse.
An automatic heater might help to keep the humidity down or leaving the window a jar to allow circulation.
Don't forget the seats cloth and foam absorb heat. I had a similar issue when finishing late shift or nights. I could be in an carpark for 10mins just venting deicing or wiping dry the glass before the Aircon took effect.

My FL2 seldom gets condensation inside, but I do keep the climate control on auto, which monitors internal moisture levels, and adds AC to keep moisture levels down.
My FL1 always got a bit of condensation inside over the winter, which is pretty normal. Every time you enter with wet feet, an amount of water inside is inevitable.

This current period of rain - almost on a scale of the book of Genesis - has led to my FL1 smelling a bit on the damp side and the windows being misted up in the morning. But then I do have the standard fish tank installed in the back, and, recently the sunroof frame has really started to turn into a flakey iron ore deposit resulting in further ingress.
I think you could well be right checked carpets roof lining &boot all dry now today rain has stopped for a while no condensation thinking of trying a window slightly open and see what happens.
