I just started to swap parts over from the battered bulkhead on my 90td to this very solid freshly painted job i laid my hands on a while back.
just about to start fitting peddles etc then it hit me:eek: !i had to have a sweet tea and a sit down.
yes ive only gone and copt a bulkhead from a left hand drive
im wondering now what the best course of action is:confused:
is it just a case of drilling out the holes ect where the peddles steering etc fit will the dash still fit wiper motor ect???or will i be better off just buying another i paid £70 alone to get this delivered but as the bulkhead was a gift/favour taking it back isnt an option ,but i really dont want to have to buy another if i can help it... still wish the fella had told me it was a lefty or id noticed sooner:rolleyes:

Just cut new holes in it wots up wiv yer? Cover the unused holes up with sheet ally or summat an self tappers. At least yer paint looks OK!!!!!

Yella took the **** out of me fer fitting it all up on the bench in the shed just to make sure everything fitted!!!

aye i quite like the paint job to, not bad for a roller:D ..
i was worried about the center piece where the gear box sits but on further inspection they look the same so it isnt as bad as i thought.
thanks i,ll crack on just didnt want any suprises when it also came to fitting the dash etc.;)

I was being facetious you obviously ant seen my bulkhead fred!

You'll have to make a new steering column support or move the existing one over somehow. I've just had a look at mine an everything seems to be pretty much the same on both sides except for the pedal, heater an steering column holes.

Have you weighed how to fill up the extra holes for the wipers an the fact that the ones you'll use are a different shape to the original ones yet.

Dint you cut the hole out, if not some one has.Looking at the brackets an things It's a TD5 bulkhead an they have a smaller hole which needs opening up.

Having said that it might not be, the wiper stem holes look round the TD5 ones are round with two flats on, an the TD5 ones don't have the oval holes either side of the fuse box recess, But then again you havent got the big hole above the fuse box for the wiring loom to go through. Eeeeeeee I dunno then.

Thanks grunt i,ll mark out what wants drilling/cutting and see how it goes..could have done without the messing about though cheers.
