Right so just got home with my new oil Filter, and Dropped it on the Bloody Floor!!!!!!

Got this dint in it..
The black bit is just paint that flaked off..

What do we reckon, still usable, or has my clumsiness cost me another filter?

Tough one...either spend £6 on a filter or risk losing all your oil and blowing the engine...hmmm.

quite true.. its only a dint like.. and the gasket and seals are fine, but how could it possibly just loose oil due to a small dent on the top!?

I should imagine the oil filter is under a fair bit of pressure...i'm an old bugger and dont trust my eyesight.

Why do you keep a dozen eggs on your computer desk???
i think the question should be do you expct one dented filter to filter all four of those oil cans? Thats far to much.
Ps i suspect it be ok but for 4 quid why risk it.

It doesn't appear to have been cracked, and if you scrape more paint off, you might find out eggsacterly who made it, so chuck it on!

Try it and if it leaks change it!

I believe that some previous comments were only yolks, as bantams and yolking is only to be eggspected on zeez pages. Ja?? :D:D

I'd use it... But then the nearest supplier to replace it is a 25 mile round trip. If it was closer I'd take it back and tell them that's how it came out of the box! :D
