after saying my 200 dti was oiltight,:blabla:
my tell tale marks of oil on the floor led me to looking at the bottom of the steering box & steering arm covered in power steering fluid..
dam bloody dam...
the landie still drives fine, no noises or hard steering, just drops oil..
I`ve looked in all the help pages, and cant find any referances to repair or seal replacement, so,
tell me o wise men of L-Zone,
is it non reparable.......
I have a good selection of tools at hand if needed..
would a good make of seal "repair in a bottle" do any good?
thanks.....

It's been mentioned on here that a capfull o' brake / clutch fluid can help swell the seals and stop leaks. Never tried it mesel' so can't say fur certain.

I can confirm it works my "new box"leaked after a few weeks a tot of brake fluid and it hasn't leaked the last 12 months

many thanks guys..
over the years of repairing, building, even racing old cars,
I`ve never tried the brake fluid trick.
so, even an old boy/dog can learn new tricks eh..
thanks again.

its now been a few days going round the system, but although the magic trick of adding clutch/brake fluid has worked a bit,
the steering box still leaks a bit..
will continue to monitor the leak, maybe add a bit more clutch fliud?
what do you guys recon?
another point,
if maybe the old steering fluid was just that "old"
I was wondering if it may have lost its usefullness?
just a though here..
thanks,
easye1...
