My FB Friends tell me when Landy is nicked, and I share on FB. At current rate, its one a day going.
I know there is serious criminal activity taking them out of country, but why is it so common ?

It's not just defenders, it's all sorts. Even things like Veedub campers and old scoobies. Last year the most nicked top ten list looked like this:

1) BMW X5
2) Mercedes C-class
3) Range Rover Sport
4) Mercedes E-class
5) Land Rover Discovery
6) BMW M3
7) Range Rover
8) Audi RS4
9) Mercedes ML
10) Mercedes C63

Ive seen em all on facebook. Seems to be roughly to be midlands and west countries, is it a professional gang?

I still find it odd that with all the land rovers being nicked people still say comments like ..no hadn't gotten around to fitting security ,only had it four months not had chance to fit any extra security ....

even so! if it is a pro group, they will know how to get in and get going quickly, they are nearly one step a head!
they say crime doesn't pay, i beg to differ!! no proper detterant!!!! very sad!

in 4 months ive turned mine into a landy version of fort knox. Still poo compaired to a modern car.
1st thing i did was add more security, within 4 days it had a hell of a lot more than std

I agree - had mine belled up almost immediately after buying. OK, it isn't an impenetrable solution but it'll make life a lot more difficult if they want to drive it away.

I take important parts off mine when I leave her unattended! Occasionally taken the steering wheel if its for a meal etc! DO GET some strange looks in restaurants BUT I feel safe she will still be there! :D

Mine was only at home for 5 days before the scum tried to nick it. Thankfully I'd upgraded the security the day before

Still one a day on FB , being stolen from almost anywhere, and never to be seen again, by owner that is. This is scandalous and surprised not been stopped by insertion of anti theft devices that work. TNT comes to mind but may be illegal. How about 12 volt cattle fence with warning sign ?

They tried to rob mine and when they decided they couldn't get passed the security on it the decided to set it on fire instead by lighting it with petrol which put me in hospital with burns trying to put it out. The rebuild then started again.

???!!! F*** me....

When I had my series 1 back in the sixties, there were no locks on it and just a button to start it. In all the years I had it nobody ever touched it. How times have changed
