Had my RRS’s 165 inspection today at a dealership. Most of the new vehicles (mostly Disco Sports) were parked in the low setting. Any reason for that?

Me? I can't see where I have been anything but nice to you :confused::eek: Honest and straight to the point , but nice ;) As for new Discos, I have no idea. Last Disco I had dealings with was a Disco2. Maybe @gstuart might know as he has a 3.
Just out of curiosity, why didn't you ask at the dealer's?
 
...outcome of inspection perchance?
Did you agree to a full or partial pants dropping?

As to the low ride heights, that's to familiarise new owners of the inevitable future stance......
ie. something not 100%.;)
 
Well, it was as expected really .. some problems, but could be worse..
Rear suspension fluid leak.. they said £1k minimum..
Brake line corrosion.. same £ again.
I’ll be contacting a local independent garage tomorrow; hopefully get a decent quote.
I’ll also try Evans Halshaw on the 3-month warranty but I honestly don’t trust them
But, hey - I took that risk; not complaining.
 
I'm not sure how true it is but 19 years ago I got my p38 left it for a week why I was at work and came back to a flat battery rang the dealer and he changed the battery but said all the ones he had were the same unless he dropped all the ride heights to low then they were ok when left on the forecourt

Now that’s interesting.. makes you wonder if you should park in low mode?

Of course you were treated well, they're hardly going to rough you up when you hold the credit card....they suck you in with niceties to draw attention away from inept workshop practices and front desk overuse of ink, all whilst being really nice and personable.

I'm glad you haven't surprised me.

Disco Sports are on steel springs so can’t adjust height

Big Land Rovers on air suspension now automatically drop to access height when parked.

I bought my new-to-me D4 last September from a main dealer and he kept emphasising the advisability of always getting into the habit of parking the car in low mode as this is much easier to get in and out of. Mentally I just dismissed this advice believing it being a caring reference to my age!!!! Now I am beginning to wonder.:confused:
