How's the reception in a Defender. I have an 04 XS 90 and last Feb I put a Sonichi SB50X Halfords DAB radio in it. I put the aerial on the rear nearside window and the reception keeps dropping out. Now I've noticed the wipers are knocking out the reception but the signal meter isn't changing. I don't remember this happening before so what's change - is it the radio or the wiper????

As it's still in guarantee I have time to take it back for one that works with the wipers on if it's faulty.

Oh, and where's the best place to put the aerial. I didn't want it on the windscreen as it's a sticky glass mount one.

First thing to do is throw away the sticky ariel. I had same radio...buy external dab Ariel. Mount on roof and it will work perfect. Good radio but needs Ariel mounted on roof.

When I bought the radio from Halfords the only option for a roof aerial was a mag mount. How does yours mount - on the gutter?

I think it was a loose digital aerial connection. Took the radio out and is much better now it's back in. Needs a better aerial though but I can't find a gutter mount dab aerial, they all seem to be pesky mag mounts

Go to Ebay and type in "beesting dab aerial".

Lots to choose from but quite expensive. Can use your existing aerial hole or put it on the roof.

I got the may Ariel free with mine. Wee square of that no more nails tape stuff - the strong one. Rock solid. Even after being thumped of a good few branches.
