Afternoon <3

I purchased a second hand drivers seat for my D3.

The original was leather / heated / memory.

The new one is leather / heated / memory PLUS electric lumber.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram of a seat WITH electric lumber so I can work out how I can make it work?

I’ve found loads on google without :(

Thank you please x

hi

if I remember correctly

It’s fuse 18 in the engine fuse box , 50 amps , then
fuse 54 - 5 amp on the passenger side fuse box,
wire should be white and red and goes into pin 2 on the back of the lumber switch, that it turn operates the lumber motor inside the seat

when u remove ur seat have a look for the white and red wire at the main loom as it comes out of the floor or might be a separate connector , so using a multimeter if the wire is there, test for battery Vdc, then insert fuse on the passenger fuse box, number 54 then test again , if power is there u know that’s ur lumber wire

Alas the fuses might not be in place on the above numbers, so at least u know what ones to check

if the wire isn’t there u may have to run a switched live to the lumber support , assuming urs in an HSE I imagine it’s there already as part of the loom

Plus what year and model is ur D3 plse

hope that helps and plse let us know if u get stuck

Might not be, Iirc D3 did not get elec lumbar support until 07/08.

many thks, think where some of the confusion comes from when seeing so many modifications being done on earlier models

thks for the heads up and will edit my thread

also wonder if the D3 lumber is the same fitted in the FL2

Afternoon Guys,

Just wanted to take the time to thank you for your help.

Found the wire on the seat, but couldn't find a substantial enough switched live underneath. I've run a wire under the carpet to the drivers side kick panel. Hoping that there might be one there. That'll be today's mission x

hi

ur so welcome and glad it helped , plus always nice to get a thank u as ur be surprised many that dont

Also found the wiring diagram for u after some searching , as u can see all u want is a switched live , there are actually some switched lives on the passenger side fuse box if u really get stuck and can’t find one in the footwell

of course just need to ensure of the fuse rating etc , plus have found that according to which model that some of the looms are omitted , like an extra loom are left out according to spec

also have a look under the passenger side to see if there any spare connectors

hope that helps and plse give us a shout if u get stuck

Thank you for that, that's really helpful.

Manners are free, people should learn to utilise them more! I'm part of a handful of other groups / forums and I know how much time you can spend answering and helping people to not even get a thanks! It's not why you do it of course, but a thank you goes a long way hey! x

Ur very welcome and that it helped

Very true and must admit if someone when asking doesn’t say please or a simple thank u I don’t bother helping them, had the thinking that u wouldn’t go up to a stranger and ask them something without manners so why do it on a forum

indeed will always help as much as possible when I know that person appreciates it

know the fun with seats as I replaced my basic manual ones to electric , had to make all new looks but really enjoyed doing it

yeh i know , I need to get out more, lol

Plse let us know how u get on and always around if u need more help
