Right this isn't funny, I had the M+S every single time, now we have good weather I can barely get it to do it!!!
I have now opened a used switch, cleaned it with contact cleaner and flushed it with WD40.
So now it is don't fix it unless it is broken (again) or drive on and forget it till it is pi$$ing down and nasty to lie under in the rain and try a repair!!!
I don't know!!!

If I were you I would spray some switch cleaner in there, to wash away any WD-40 residue. Then fill the plastic case with grease to stop were water ingress.

This is what you do to towbar sockets and it works really well.

The other thing I would do is clean the contacts of the electrical connector with switch cleaner then protect with electrolyte grease. It's a grease that allows electrical flow but stops humidity corroding the contacts - used a lot on motorbikes electrical systems.

Right been under the belly of the beast and realised I have no chance on my back on the driveway. Does anyone know a 10 digit code for a 53 facelift TD5 auto gearbox? I can't see it? As mentioned before access limited.

Sorry mate but I'm not sure what you are getting at here? Normally you would order parts using your VIN.

What 10 digit code are you referring to?

I have been in touch with a ZF spares company and they need the 10 digit code from the model plate on the side of the box. It will probably be th ZF part number not the LR part number
