Evening all....I have just tried to undo the fuel filter and it's solid.....I've tried to use a web oil filter strap on it but no go ....I'm worried I will damage the pipes and fittings if I get to heavy handed but it's not moving .....I would appreciate any top tips please......

Thanks a lot.

If I come across a stubborn fuel or oil filter I punch a large screwdriver through it to get a good leverage, can be a bit messy but is effective :)

Then youve no option but to remove it!
They can be quite tight, ive used my chain filter wrench to remove some stubborn ones and in fact mangled them before they let go and loosen. To date (101000 miles) they have all come off without any trouble.

Thanks I tried this but have now put a dent in the filter canister ....I hope this won't cause
Running problems ?

It won t create problems unless you ve buckled the top and it leaks at the seal, you will have to disconnect and remove whole thing so you can hold filter head in vice to remove filter

Ok thanks .....I've ordered a BIG FILTER STRAP so will try this before trying to
Take the whole unit off. Appreciate the advice.

get the wheel out of the way so you can get 2 hands on it -wrap sand paper round it and give it some with both hands-it will come off

+1^^, IMO no need to take the whole unit off cos it's fixed well enough to the chassis...use brute force on that f**k*ng filter
