If overboost protection kicks in it'll become sluggish above 2000rpm as the ECU cuts fuelling when it gets a too high input from the MAP sensor but will recover when you release the throttle and you'll have overboost fault code stored in the ECU memory.... better describe what's going on with your's.
 
well ok lets begin.......td5 auto 15p.....originally it just cut out over 12 months ago so usual, injector copper washers and seals replaced, new loom + injector loom (oil), behaved for 12 months shortish journies 20 mile each way. Then we go on holiday towing, resonably hot for Britain, on the way home splutters and dies. Manged to get changed the fuel can thinking it was time and then it seemed to be cured. However it became hard to start (never been like that) so changed the bleed valve thinking it had been disturbed from fitting the new fuel filter, loads of noise coming from the pump so changed the pump because pressure seemed low at the line end into the fuel pressure regulator.

Its still cutting out, so wondered what the conditions were if overboosting was ocurring. Thanks for the replies. No codes what so ever, so I guess Im back to that great rear filter design at teh back perhaps its cracked and getting air in.

I'll let you know how I get on.
 
I changed them genuine landrover I've seen a post that talks about the rear filter housing giving way and the air bleed and none return valves causing the same issue, they aren't exactly hardcore. I'll check those out first because I get no bubbles on the return pipe. Thanks for replying.
 
Seems in my case that the cut out and hard to start have indeed been down to the rear fuel filter holder/air bleed valve not bleeding. My man in his garage has tested the disco last night no stops or cut outs. As soon as he's brief me I post again. Thanks for all the interest and advice.
