ive never seen one lock with excess diesel caused by full pedal, difficult starts are helped by full pedal often, petrols are a different matter
you saw one case now... it's the 3'rd i see when the glow plugs had to be removed to restore easy cranking after unnecessary throttle usage ... i dont recommend to anybody to touch the throttle on a Td5 while cranking if it wasnt empty and IMO if it starts with the throttle it would have started without it too

Ye i get it now, just been trying it all night, definatley not a fuel problem...do you think if the injectors chuffing could stop it firing?
It can be a crank signal failure or ECU topside switch fault or who knows what.... you need a proper diagnose with tester for that

youve got issues if cylinders are filling and its not even trying to fire and your still turning it over, a system with air in it can benefit with some pedal in an attempt to start, air in the system if thats the issue gives an attempt to fire which full pedal helps

I agree, but that's the case only if the rail was emptied or it draw plenty of air for some reason not after a filter change or other several failed starting attempts with purged system....which was the case here,..... that's what RAVE states as well

if there were no attempts to fire i would be looking further than air for the reason, that purge or other wont help with

Had it diagnosed, by an auto elec mentioned earlier only has a cruise control fault, also i changed the crank sensor...only thing really noticeable about it now, is alot of diesal spraying out of oil cap, investigate further today more than likley chuffing injectors...

Got a borrow of a new snapon scanner, checked the injectors & reprogrammed them, 4 are blacktop then number 5 is blue? Maybe seel replace dont know...anyway watched live data cylinder balance & this what follows, they are all out of sync & each cylinder alternates being out of range, some cylinders absolutely nothing...checked my other manual td5 and they are all near enough same wave length.
First is the injector codes then the other are 2 separate times i cranked over, different every crank. Im guessing a fuel delivery issue??
