Had a look around here to see if I can find anyone who's having the same issues. Can find several similars but none the same so ANY help greatly appreciated, this truck is getting on the last of my nerves!
To cut a long story short, its only done 75k for the record.
Got a nice TD5 auto GS 2001 plate, went OK, apart from bubbles shooting up from the expansion tank. Took it to local LR dealer, reckons HG failure.
No problem I thought, got the parts, got the head skimmed, pressure tested and all that jazz, 2 handy BMW mechanics to do the job, luvley jubbly. All was well. Bubbles went away.
Couple months later noticed that the Rad was a little damp and pink in one corner, and was loosing a bit of water, every 500 or so miles. As its not used much I put it down to a bit more water used for a but after such a big job. Changed rad, top hose, expansion cap, bled thru etc.
Now there is still a little water seeping out of the over flow and still loosing water here and there. Prob around a litre every 500 miles. And I can't see where its going.
Oil is a good colour, no diesel or water in it, coolant is now a nice colour and flowing nicely thru the return back to the expansion tank.
Its NOT overheating, temp guage stays dead centre, tho the electric fan is running. Heaters run OK. She pulls and drives well.
Any ideas out there anyone?! Any help greatfully recieved! Thanks
