This one has me stumped.

I have searched forum galore and no solution seems to help.

After my D2 tailgate got damaged in a storm, I fitted a replacement. After hanging it, I closed the door to check fit and it has never opened since. Have spent days piddling about with it. (This is not the mechanism in need of WD40). It is impossible to open from the inside with the door card removed.

Does anyone know of a way to get a a tailgate open when the atuator may have failed?

Cheers?

So you can't open it from inside using the manual lever?
I had enough hassle changing the lock unit for a new one but I could always open from the inside with the lever.
Is the lever still connected?
If it is then you may need to give it a kick from the inside when the lever is operated. It may be held on the lock catch if you didnt adjust it.
If you've got the old one you could check what the levers do and try to get this one in the release position and again give it a kick from inside.
Good luck.

Child lock on?

Two person job try this.

Pull on inside handle and also outside handle.

If this doesn't work, time to get another lock and dismantle this one from inside

No! Tried all these ideas!

It has failed in the locked postion. I guess I have to find a way to open an actuator that is locked shut.
