I have a spare compressor which I want to refurb. Apart from changing the piston ring and possibly the motor brushes, is there anything else to check?

Once you have it off the car, change the dryer crystals as well, and carefully clean the little flap type valve on the top of the piston..

Thank you. Didn't even know there was an air dryer. What' s its function apart from drying the air?

I assume it stops moist air getting into the air system to prevent possible freezing in cold weather.

Yes possibly. Anyone know where you can get those push-in connectors for the inlet and exhaust connections?
