Hi guys,

Does anyone have recommendation for a good Disco 2 TD5 service kit and oil package that I should buy for servicing my Disco?

I have seen loads online and on eBay but most seem to be the QX branded stuff and my mate says it’s cheap rubbish and not to buy it.

Cheers in advance

Chris

I can recommend total 7000 10w40 energy for oil... but whatever you choose change it on a regular basis... Mann filters are a1...

4000 miles

Remember theres 2 oil filters on the td5, be careful not to over tighten the rotor filter bolts

Not convinced there is anything wrong with QX oils. I use Carlube, never had any problems with it.
Like he says^^^^^^^^^, main thing is to change it often, at the recommended intervals, or more often if you do a lot of short journeys and off roading.

The cheapest way to buy oil is usually to buy 20litre drums, and just get quality filters from a motor factor or LR parts indie.

I would think that would work, but I do notice they do not seem to specify a brand for the filters.
I just buy a 20 litre Carlube synth, and the filters. I get the rotary oil filters genuine, because the cheap ones don't always spin as they are supposed to.
Can you share any links for your usual purchases?

I never buy anything online, or very rarely.
Just go in the local factors, nice helpful blokes, and I can see what I am buying before I buy it.
Sure there will be a Mill Auto, Motor Parts Direct, or similar local options round you. If you want a genuine spin on filter, LR dealer will supply, or Paddock or similar online.
