Hello folks, Scott here just a quick one to say I'm here. I live in West Lothian. Always open to advice and try to help where I can.

Recently got a discovery 2 for off roading I got it for a decent price considering the gear on it

2 inch lift kit (rear coils)
Winch and bumper
front protection plates
Chunky tyres
Vampire killer lights both in grill and on roof bars.
Probably more I have forgotten...

I have been a busy bugger and found my local scrapies had a d2 in with low miles bought intercooler, rad, top hose, expansion tank cap, and front prop shaft for a song.

Still got some issues but got all the lights off the dash. 3 amigos, and the suspension bag one.
3 amigos I done shuttle valve bypass the other weekend and they stayed on got a shot of a code reader to find the rear right wheel sensor was disconnected so pushed it back in and watched the 3 amigos go into hiding for the time being.

plan to add a few mods bush cables I call them but will stand corrected spacers to let the wheels turn full lock haha

It seems to have a straight through minus the rear silencer which I wanted to do a side exit on but feel it's bit on the loud side as it is

Cdl is a must and I have the switch on my box for it was thinking a union 3/8with 10mm deep socket so in the cab is a quick turn of the wrist to engage it?

Welcome to Lz bud, landy looks decent :)
You'll be needing a fuel tank guard as the discos like to smack there ar$e if your off roading.

Cheers Kev

Aye I did see that when I was under the bus the day with that wheel sensor. Looks a prime target

Be looking at relocating the wishy washy bottle as it's destin to get melted with a tyre or debris in reverse. It's never going to be perfect but liveable. I have a van supplied for work and also have a navara d40 landy is for sheer fun.

If I can make something that will do the job I will try atleast.

EXTREME ARMOUR Fuel Tank Guard to fit Land Rover Discovery 2 (Td5 & V8) | Dirt Monkey Offroad (dirtmonkeyoffroadltd.co.uk)

Aww aye that's the very fellas, could go mad with it too easily

Any decent links to cheap wheel spacers about 30mm maybe 40 mm?

Still trying to find all the cheap but cheerful pages quite like jgs, seem decent. Paddock spares aswell I thi k it was called.

The spacers will put extra pressure on the wheel bearings, cheap isnt the best idea with landys
most will stay away from the blue brand britpart unless your on a budget.
Im assuming your tyres hit the body on full lock...you have the wrong offset wheels.
On the hub there is a bolt sticking out with a lock nut turn your steering full lock & you will
see where the bolt should hit the radius arm, adjust as necessary so the tyres dont rub.

Aye its catching just before full lock, the wheels I'm learning about, I would prefer modular wheels bought the motor the way it sits in the pic.

spacers are a quick fix want it on the road to give it a decent run see what other demons are hiding. Will have a look at that cheers for the heads up

Hi and welcome Scotty, I find JGS really good too, they are the only ones who don't charge extra carriage to Scotland so I use them as my first choice if I don't have spares on my 3 donor vehicles!!

It's not uncommon to see 2 or 3 discos grazing in someone's garden waiting to be used for parts

Where about in Scotland are you?

I'm not quite that far north but give me a shout if you're up this way again and I'll put the kettle on!!

Hey buddy.

Wee update on her had a hellish time trying to bleed her through think I have it now the usual tank in the, air bleed screw out, squeeze some pipes. The issue was getting water into the matrix seemed to be air locked.

As for mot I got let down abit with the v5 so had to send away for it. 6 week wait apparently so can't tax it or sorn it until v5 comes in so it's sitting round the back like a big ornament

Fitted new exhaust, soldered the wires for bypasses (shuttle valves and the air suspension ones)
Fitted the Bush cables

And added spacers. Seen the wheels I want but going to lay off the spending on it its basically mot ready as far as I can see.
