Hi all,

I've recently fitted 2" larger tyres to my D2 (from stock size) and it feels much less powerful. At first I thought it is down to the tyres, but I'm less convinced after reading various posts.

I felt as though the engine was underpowered about a year ago when I bought it, but had nothing to compare it with. Could it be due to a MAF sensor? When I floor it it takes a while to reach even 90kph and going up to say 110kph feels like an age.

Also, the temperature gauge takes a long time to heat up...is it likely my fuel pump needs replacing? My magnetic clutch fell off about 3 months ago, but I think thats just for the aircon. Is that right?

Car is a 2003 facelift TD5

unplug the MAF and drive it so... if it's better with it unplugged put a new VDO/Siemens one, if no change with MAF unplugged it can be clogged CAT too... or many other reasons... a tester is needed for proper diagnose

I would have thought that was the main reason especially as it came on when you fitted the tyres, it is now like setting off in 2nd gear the bigger the tyres the taller the gearing, to get your power back and gearing back down I would source a transfer box from a V8 as this will be lower ratio
