You might find it cheaper to buy a French registered Disco -
all the work done on your vehicle for the 'MOT' and registration has to be backed up by the receipts that it has been fitted by a 'competent' mechanic ...
my bro-in-law was stitched up big time for his camper MOT and registration when they moved to Nanteuil-en-Vallée, 10yr ago ...
Only just seen this,
Cheaper to buy in the UK. £100 for certificate of European Conformity from land rover. £250 for headlights from paddocks. 65 for mot. Go to local vehicle registration centre and pay for your log book. Done dusted and I changed the headlights.
6th car I have changed over. Campers on the other hand you may well be right.
