so.. options for an aux input are simple in my mind, obviously i am limiting my costs,

specifics oif the vehicle are 52plate td5 disco2 facelift, basic tape deck with CD changer. it DOES have parrot AR fitted for calls which i would like to retain, unless option 3 is the simplest as it will probably work

1. splice an aux plug into the CD changer wire and mount either a 3.5mm jack somewhere or have a small socket somewhere (i am thinking i have lots of space by the window switches as i have no heated seats so it could go there.

could anyone recommend a good guide? preferably one that allows me to bin off the CD changer completely as i have little intention to actually use this, i have read somewhere that grounding one of the wires mimics the fact that a CD is present so it will always allow you to select it)

2. purchase a product that effectively does the above but plugs straight into the CD changer loom, again, can anyone recommend a good product?

3. fit an aftermarket bluetooth stereo with a small conversion box for the steering wheel controls (available separately) depending on which i buy i am looking at £40-50 fgor the stereo and then however much the control conversion costs..

with the first and second lots i am also led to believe that the 12v supply to the CD changer is quite beefy so would potentially be fitting a couple of USB chargers running from it as well (nothing horrifically drawing),

i have a few options here but there is a sentimental part of me that kind of likes the oem look of the original stereo here, so ideally 1 or 2, and then its a case of balancing cost over simplicity..

Reversing sensors, for the most part, work well.. occasionally if they are left on the "pulse" will get faster and then it will flatline, if you catch my drift.. no amount of turning off or on or restarting the vehicle fixes this but if left it will sort of fix itself..

any idea what this could be? loose wire/water ingress etc?

I did something similar and posted the links to the product I used - cant seem to give you the link, so try searching on here for
"Solution - Bluetooth on OEM Head Unit with CD Multi-changer" and it should bring up my old thread.
