I was on it some years ago when I had my Disco 2. Not been on it for 10 years since I sold it. It was very busy then. Would be sad to see it has moved across to FB, although lots of forums have gone the same way…

It’s been like that for 3 or 4 days now.

Would be sad if they just shut it and migrated to Facecloth without saying anything.

yes had the same problem, I thought is was my PC blocking it and have kept trying to open the webpages, I dont do FB, so lets hoe it a fixable problem, after all that what theses forum are all about fixing stuff

The site is down at the moment (been 5 days now to my knowledge), it's not gone away. There's a problem with the server that is being worked on. Should be back by the weekend hopefully. Don't think that admin or mods come here.

@sierrafery

Hi Fery,

The d2bc is down so came over here to find you. Wondering if you can help? I have an intermittent glitch where my folding mirrors fold/unfold themselves, the windscreen wiper switch is dead, climate control, radio, and front windows all dead. I've been looking through the circuit diagrams and electrical library, but not seeing what links them all together. I was thinking earth or something with ignition switch as there's been a bit of water ingress and switching ignition off and back on seems to get them all working again. Any ideas where I should look? Your help as always would be most appreciated. Cliff

Hi Cliff, that's not an easy one, unfortunately i have no clear answer for this oddity... the first suspect in such cases is the interior fusebox which has to do with all those systems so you should rule that out first cos it would be ineffective to start some complex troubeshooting without knowing that the IDM(which is common failure) is 100% OK

Thanks, I feared you'd say something like that. I fitted a replacement fusebox and BCU last year (Heathy). A wet IDM did immediately spring to mind, but I don't see how the folding mirrors fits, maybe a coincidence (water on the mirror ECU) ?
Driving me insane now all these ridiculous problems. Good job LR don't sell boats! 😂

Make sure you request to join the proper FB page. WWW.D2BC.CO.UK
We can only approve members so technically need the forum to be up and running again to confirm. Just answer the questions and you'll be fine

Can be an intermittent bad contact on the ignition feed's path to the mirror ECU then it folds/unfolds them based on that... these king of faults are hard to diagnose and the troubleshooting is not easy so it's very important that the first suspect(aka the fusebox) to be 100% ruled out first... if it's not that at least you have a good spare or you can sell it for same price... i checked the diagrams and another ideea is to jiggle the wires/connectors/earth headers both sides under the fascia and see if it has any effect or not cos corrosion is quite common there and the non working systems you mentioned are going that way

here's for the LH side, quite the same on RH side too
