Hello, after several miles of enjoyment first problems arrive as suspected it's a proper Landy alricht!

When buying this td5 2002 d2 first test drive showed the same problem. Not getting on speed and never reaching 4th gear (automatic )
Throttle is ok but not steady, it withdrawls/holds back at highest gear. Sometimes it's not even reaching third.
Read out computer is ordered but didn't arrive yet :(
My first guess is fuel, so what should stationary pressure be?
Maff sensor cleaning
Air flow sensor and clean the electric plug/connector where oil could get in.

Am i right on these first steps.
And yep English is sluggish 2 ;)

Grtzz from Holland where it is a bit chilly today,

Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and take it for a short run. I've just had to replace mine, cleaning didn't work, unplugging it made it better so a new genuine one went on and sorted it.

Check the wastegate can move freely.

Have you checked the level and condition of the ATF in the gearbox?

Maf is airflow or is that mass, always forget and throw these upside down in my thick head(not dyslectici at all ;p)

But did that, and now I am waiting for a towing truck to bring me home... Won't start at all :(

What I tried so far,
Loose maf sensor no result
Checked the wastegate, pulled of the lever and then the valve runs freely. Replacing back the lever needs a bit of force. Is it in need of adjustment?
Got it started again, went home and it shifted up to 2nd throttle was sine wave up and down. Hope tomorrow my Foxwell is arriving.... Any ideas are welcome.
Thx in advance
My mss and I didn't want any projects any more, then she bought this d2 hahaha

This, wastgate modulator I can not seem to find it anywhere?
Quick search and delivery here in Holland has bearmach parts.
I read prk 100130 right?

You do know that the gear box electronics hold the selection of top gear until the gearbox temp is suitable, a bit of a pain I believe, if u wish to press on and it’s cold.
Then, sluggish selection of the ratios could be just down to that the ATF fluid hasn’t been been replaced for a while.

Discool, atf has been replaced and I I know the cold start thing.

Sieraferry, thnx starting there

Haha my vw t4 work van is showing same odd sluggishness it's epidemic

This is what i get as read out, so first things first tomorrow is work, after that checking out the wiring harness to ecu for oil leakege plug on the motor side has no traces of oil, former owner said he exchanged it for a new one but he said a lot...
orderd a vacuum modulator ,just in case.
Tried to start it today, nothing.
startup sequence seems fine just no ignition or starter motor .

Frst of all erase those codes and try to start it then read again.... from those hystorical codes it seem sthat the crank sensor signal is problematic

Is that them speed faults, seems logical now you saying it. Steep learning curve these disco's seem to have. Had a rough day today at work, beautiful whether thoug ;) to morrow I have more time I hope thnx!

Hello,
After erasing all faults 2 things come up or can't be erased.
Engine and speed is out of bounds, it doesn't start neither.
Checked ecu for oil traces, it's clean.

Replace cranck shaft sensor?
Where can I find a parts list for this car?

Thanks upfront.

Greetings from Holland where life is weekendisch ;)

Well it's running again, replaced the crankshaft sensor. Old one came out in 2 pieces. Friday it is going to a nice land rover garage just round the corner the mechanic is going to explain some stuff and hopefully we get rid of the not shifting up ghost.

Keep u posted again

Haha, so we made us a list last Friday.
Ace valve block (underneath the car) needs mending, hight position sensors need replacement, front shocks need replacement (so it's getting a lift) , all oils will be exchanged. Is it wise to exchange rear air suspension just in case?

Rest of the car is as suspected in nice condition, filled the transfer box/shifty thing and shift's rather smooth now.

Keep u posted on the shift ghost though, as u know never trust a ghost ;)
