I doubt that you'll get refund if the compressor suffered from water ingress cos that's not the fault of the supplier/manufacturer. You should carefully investigate to figure out how that water could have entered in it. Even if you didnt drive it in water, if it was heavy rain it's possible that the LH tail light is not seated well and water got behind it and sucked in through the air intake or something.

Is the air intake supposed to be covered? Mine is not so was wondering if that could be the reason water got into my new compressor. I'm still stuck in Saudi so can't investigate

Hi,
yes it should have a cover on it and in side you have a piece of foam and some filter medium.Make sure the tube which is near it does not end above the filter, it needs to end lower or water can go in to the filter. This tube is the sunroof drain pipe, some have been modified, some not.
I did not think you got rain in Saudi!
all the best.

Thanks for the info. You're right, we don't get a great deal of rain here but sadly my truck is in the UK and I haven't managed to get back to the UK this year yet. Best I trawl the scrappy for a cover. Thanks again
