Currently transferring the shifter + cdl unit from a d1 into my d2, but the cover for the transmission gear selector is completely stuck on with silicone. Won't even budge one bit. There also isn't much room to work with. Any ideas on how to get it off?

Heat it up with a heat gun & stick a bolt in the cover hole (not into the threads) & use the socket & extension for the ratchet to
prize it up. You might need a Stanley blade to cut into the join.

No worries pal let us know how ye get on. :)
Not the best. I can't post the video I took but when I try to pry the thing off, the entire transmission ends up moving, getting me nowhere. It genuinely feels like its stuck on some other way, but I can't think of how, or why.

You'll need to get a leaver under where the gate springs are & use brut force to break the seal.
Can you get a claw hammer under it, there is nothing else holding it on.
