Good morning fellow addicts. Tonk, 2.25 petrol engine 1968 vintage, is having a complete overhaul of the top end and I have read in many places that if I'm doing the cylinder head gaskets, valves, springs etc etc I should also replace the water pump and thermostat. Thermostat is not a problem, but I cannot find a water pump that looks like the one I've just taken off:

The closest one I can find at Paddock, (other suppliers are available, and show the same part) is :

Part No: STC3758G

Can the collective brains here confirm that this is a suitable/correct replacement for the one I've taken off and if not, grateful if someone will please point me in the right direction.

And while we're at it, when taking the pump off, there were a mixture of studs and bolts holding it on, which should it be please. there are long bolts that go into the main block, they're OK, it's the ones that go round the top where there are a couple of studs and a handful of bolts. Which is right please?

There will probably be more questions but this will do for a starter!

Thank you!

That’s the correct pump not sure about bolt lengths, I would fit loose and swap, around until a similar length sticks out when thread just started , some might be obvious.
Checked workshop manual which just says take note when removing đŸ˜€

Now however, we find another issue. After stripping the head of al it's moving bits, I have cleaned it as best I can and what appears to be, depending who I ask, either a big problem, ie replace the head, or a Nah, they all do that/look like that, it's nothing to worry about.
In the image, you'll see a hairline from 'north' to 'south' about a third of the way in from the left.

Grateful for your thoughts please.
Thank you!
