Hi All,

Im just finishing putting a TD27 with an LT77 gearbox in my series 3. I now need to shorten the rear prop and lengthen the front one.
Is there an off the shelf prop i can use? or as its cheaper buy a longer prop shaft for the front and get it shortened? If i go down this route which Landy prop is best suited for this?

Thanks

Alby

Shortening a prop is relatively easy. I have done it a few times. Also instead of lengthening one it is best as you suggest to start with a long one and shorten that. For a series I would start with a 109 or RRC/Disco rear prop and go from there.

BTW, have you checked that with a shorter rear prop you are not going to get UJ binding as the yokes will be operating at a steeper angle.

Thanks for the reply Andy. I hadnt actually thought about the UJ binding with the new angle. Is there a solution for this except for moving the whole gearbox forward?
Also you mentioned you have shortened a prop a few times-Where do i start with this or shall i pass it on to someone who knows what they are doing?! (or pay you to do it?!!)
Look forward to your reply
