My 110 currently has the Terrafirma Defender Security Cubby Box fitted. Nice box, although it is missing the pad on the top. Unfortunately it is rattling like a mad thing even on the smoothest roads. I believe it is due to the metal lever that stops the lid opening to far.

I was thinking of covering the lever with a foam tub of some sort or replacing the lever altogether with a cloth strap.

Does anybody have any better ideas?

Just bend it a bit then it won't rattle..

Thanks blackstrat, I have tried bending it slightly but it did not make much difference. I want to be a bit careful as it does look like it might break if I bend it more.

bluedog333, yes expensive box! Came with vehicle, as it also has a night heater, I am guessing the cubby box needs to be metal. I do not think it is the whole thing. The vehicle as a whole has been giving me nothing but problems, but that is another story :-(

Fair enough.. could you maybe reposition either the upper or lower bracket fixing point slightly to take out the slop instead..?

If you're worrying about a rattly cubby box then you're doing alright! What over issues do you have?

Black tape wrap around the lower leg so that when closed it gets a three way sandwich between box side, lower leg and upper leg, stops any lateral movement. May need packing out under tape on box side if large clearance.
Or, can't see what joint fixings it has but can you crush/squeeze them to tighten joint if rivets and take out looseness.
