I've got a cubby box in at the moment and am contemplating swapping it over for a centre seat. I doubt it will get much use, probably give the dog a bit more space when he's in the front but that's about it. All I keep in my cubby box is junk basically so I didn't really see any reason to keep it.
The seat will get used occasionally for the missus niece to sit up front but I've never actually sat in one myself so no idea how tight it is.
So what's everyone's opinion: get rid of the cubby box full of junk and fit a centre seat or clear out the cubby box and just keep it as a glorified arm rest?

I started off with a middle seat- twas fine for me coz it didn't affect me too much- have to say 4 legs in one passenger footwell caused a distinct load of kicking, nudging and irritation. As did almost elbowing the middle seat passenger in the face if they lent forward even slightly when I wanted to change gear.

Loving my cubby and love having an arm rest - do miss having somewhere nice and flat to put my handbag but that's about the only thing I do miss

I had a centre seat to begin with, I just chucked all the junk on that instead, now theres a cubby, at least the junks outta sight :)

Has anyone ever tried a combined centre seat / cubby idea? I have a vision but I'd be interested to see if it had been done before.

The centre seat back would be permanently in place but the seat base would be removable and reversible. When flipped upsides down, you could have a couple of drinks holders and a (smallish) cubby box on the underside - enough to keep loose change, chocolate etc.

Maybe this is a lot of work for what it would be, just a thought.
