My car is a 97 4.6 HSE trouble is that my cruise control is not working i am trying to set it via button on steering wheel but nothing is happening? Can anyone shed anylight?

Thanks for looking

yep , not a big problem , i had the same fault about 2 mnths ago and the kind folks on here came up the answer.
it is most probably down to the vacuum pipes being cracked or split , if u dont know where they are they are located near to the bulk head on the passenger side wing .
they will cost u about £3 to replace. :)

try going over the vacum pipes next to a little black pod thingy next to the throttle mount they normaly perish and you loose the vacum.

Has it ever worked since you have owned the car, if not, are you remembering to switch it on using the master switch on the dash before you try to control it with the steering wheel buttons ?

Its never worked since i have had it, tried with motorway swithch on but still nothing will check vacum pipes

i fixed mine by trimming the cracked bit of the vac pipe (about an inch) then pushing it back on the tee .

although I dismantled and reassembled my cruise control and feel as though I know the system quite well mine is a discovery.. have you got the rave cd yet as that has a pretty good diagramme of the system...

try greenoval.. or search here for Rave CD... other links about... worth a download anyway and (the one for the disco anyway) has a good section on the cruise set up....

in the meantime perhaps a range rover owner could ask their butler to post the answer to your question - which fuse is it for the cruise control :D :D
