Good morning,

Sorry to have to ask but can't get the thing working. It's not the pipes, all the ends have been checked and no leaks anywhere except at the vac pump under the jack. That pipe is fine and on tight but if I blow or suck on a pipe I can hear air somewhere from the pump. So is there any other area round the pump that can leak, and if so how do I get it out and from where ?

Holiday season now and family arriving constantly for a week in France, the cars done three trip to and from the airport in the last 8 days with more trips to come just think it may make the motorway drive a little 'nicer'.

Thank you....

You can see the vac pump, it's mounted on rubber bushes so easy although it looks fiddly to remove, you can feel around it and find if the vac hose is still attached.

Mine was a fault on the exaust valve. It was locked constantly open, so when I selected C/Control it couldnt get the vacume. New pump on order. Even a guy who mends anything says there is no repair possible. 40 euros for a second hand one. I have a number of the guy if it helps, youll have it in two days if its urgent, even to France.

Also the rubber mounting for it are the same as the air-filter mounts for the 200tdi, (little cotton reel types).

Thank you all for your replies. Got the pump off this afternoon and it seems that if I blow down the pipe it's leaking across the diaphragm. So a goosed pump,no way to get into it, I'll just wait till I get round to finding one, though my wife now thinks that it would be a good thing to get the speakers in the rear door working. I'm on solid ground there and the amp has blown so a rebuild when I get the bits....before another trip to the airport she hopes !
Again thanks.....Graham
