Just had a quick look, I think it might go to the brake pedal area.(Thor 4.6)Replaced perished section of rubber hose at the EAS end, but still won't work. Where does that rubber hose diskappear to behind arse-end of the engine please?
Thanks in anticipation.
Thanks Keith. That'd be logical, as it would presumably detect when brakes applied, thus deactivating the cruise control. Many thanks.Just had a quick look, I think it might go to the brake pedal area.
Thanks for the info...I'll have have a proper "shuftie" when she's next on a ramp. There's a hose that goes behind the engine, through the bulkhead to the brake pedal switch.
Mine had popped out and thought the brake pedal was always pressed so was permanently off
You don't need it in the air, unless you don't/can't kneel to get to the brake pedalThanks for the info...I'll have have a proper "shuftie" when she's next on a ramp.
So it's INSIDE the car then? Had four ops on my back, both shoulders and elbows done, two ops on my stomach in last three years or so. Can bend down, but can't get to brake pedal. Been wanting to sort out an incredibly annoying squeek every time I use brake pedal since I bought her in Jan 2015! Thanks for info though. You don't need it in the air, unless you don't/can't kneel to get to the brake pedal
Cheers Kermit! I'm planning on replacing driver side blend motor soon...no heat on "my side" is no joke. I can actually reach brake pedal, so I'll have a feel around armed with the info you've give me and see what I can suss out. Perhaps when I've removed what I need to get to blend motor, I'll have sufficient access to check/rectify cruise control too! Thanks again! It goes from the control module/bellows along the bulkhead engine side, then pokes thru into the top of the footwell and snakes down to the top of the pedal assembly
There actually 2 switches on the pedal, one for the lights and one for cruise. I'm not really sure what the cruise one does though, mines broke and i taped it up so it thinks the pedal is never pressed and cruise works fine and cuts off when the brake pedal is pressed! I never use cruise though
It's very hard to get to if it's in place!! Everything is in the way. It's got the rubber hose connected to it and also an electrical connector
Thanks for the encouragement! Kick plate already off =~]Good luck! With the kick panel off, of you squint, you can barely see the general area, hand in at the bottom (oooer missus!!) Then up and back towards you, if that makes sense
I've done that blend motor recently, obviously attacked previously because easy to get to and the repair was easy, getting it just right took some figuring out but simple once i figured it out!!
Cheers for that useful nugget of info. Just bought an aerosol of white grease with long nozzle which I figured would be perfect! If that DOESN'T work, then earplugs it shall be!If your annoying squeak on the brake pedal is the same as mine you want a can of spray grease with a straw which will get you up to a metal spring on the pedal that is used to create the return pressure on the pedal (via a twisting, rather than extending, action).
Good luck with the cruise control, I'm still lacking the motivation to fix mine
Does the sqeek need spraying where spring attaches to pedal, or t'other end...or both?If your annoying squeak on the brake pedal is the same as mine you want a can of spray grease with a straw which will get you up to a metal spring on the pedal that is used to create the return pressure on the pedal (via a twisting, rather than extending, action).

If it squeaks, spray it. if it doesn't then spray it anyway as a warning in case it changes its mind!!Does the sqeek need spraying where spring attaches to pedal, or t'other end...or both?
Does that go for mice and kids too?If it squeaks, spray it. if it doesn't then spray it anyway as a warning in case it changes its mind!!
Spray oil worked better for me before the application of grease as the grease does not penetrate to the inner surfaces easily.Does that go for mice and kids too?

Thanks Keith. I was wondering if the grease would tend to just enclose, rather than penetrate and lubricate between the two surfaces...Spray oil worked better for me before the application of grease as the grease does not penetrate to the inner surfaces easily.
A can of 3 in 1 spray oil works for me, the grease keeps it in.Thanks Keith. I was wondering if the grease would tend to just enclose, rather than penetrate and lubricate between the two surfaces...
