when driving in to work tonight the cruise control turned off and would not reset i can hear rapid clicking from the passenger side where all the relays are when i try to set it is there a relay in there for this?
now its working again !!!!!!!.i did have a few times when it would not come on but only a couple of times a year got the feeling its going to do this until whatever it is fails.anyone got any idears where to look?.
Anyway, yes there is a relay behind the passengers footwell kick panel and coloured green, the rear fog lamp relay is there and is green also, the ECU is on the drivers side, there's two if your disco is manual.
Also look in the Forums 'Technical Archive' for more info on CC if you don't have a copy of RAVE

Hi I've just done a full service and check on my cruise with an old Land Rover mechanic, we replaced all the hoses with reinforced petrol pipe no cutting and fitting, we fully removed the pump and relay from under the spare battery box cleaned and tested all the connections with a electric tester, all perfect, then put on a hand operated vacuum pump to make sure the diaphragm was going in, then press the brake to make sure it was releasing as it should, all perfect, you can do this without the engine running with the volt meter by putting the live to live and then the earth to hear the motor and see the diaphragm operate, if this isn't working correctly the relay under the kick panel will click from having a bad earth, the relay is easy to do, just make sure when you've done it you check it all again before putting back together, hope this sounded clear, basically the relay is the last thing to check if everything thing else is working its kaput,
