So I've been wanting to blank but not remove the EGR but due to a young child limited funds persist. So I had a think.
Anyway my undertray was knackered so removed and noticed the mounting sections would be perfect to make a blank out of.
1 knackered I undertray sacrificed
1 blank made
1 blank Installed on the EGR outlet pipe as it joins the intake and EGR still intact.
Total cost - 1 can of beer and 45 minutes of my time

Philistine ! :( Rover's finest - a Water cooled EGR none the less !, the height of automotive technical break throughs and shear luxury.
It really is MUCH MUCH better to remove the whole damn thing. The beauty of this is that you have superb access then to the back of the magnificent piece of engineering called the 'L series engine'...
It really does free up the space.
You can also unplug and remove the PWM egr modulator vaccum solenoid and remove the complete vacuum pipes simply blanking off the vac take off point on the Brake servo vac one way valve.
You can also get a nice smooth piece of alloy of plastic tubing and throw away the now completely redundant heap of junk called the MAF sensor.....
There you go, much neater and a very slightly better airflow.
Neither the EGR PWM Vac Solenoid or MAF will trigger the Money Light.

This is all stuff I would happily do, but at the time of writing I was on limited funds/resources so found a free way and quick way of blanking.

Nice job also. You can still use the plate you made when you remove the rest, you just need to make another small plate for the exhaust manifold take off. Find a small piece of tube to join the two water pipes. Then as said above, you can completely remove the egr modulator solenoid assembly from the bulkhead and it's associated vac pipes, also the now completely and utterly redundant MAF unit.
The difference in room for any future repairs and inspection is simply amazing..

Clutch change
ARB DL
Glow Plugs
All 4 tyres
Tracking
Track rod ends
Both wing mirrors replaced
Headlining replaced
Fitted roof bars

Now she is getting a bit ****ed off.
Apparently she has come 2nd to the LR

I've played 2nd fiddle to horses for years now so the missus doesn't give a stuff what I do.

I think I'd rather have it your way.
All I get when i want to work on the car is grief. Although she is pregnant and hormonal so not a surprise
