Not quite, but it changed dramatically for the diffs between the D1 and D2.

This is a 2014 SDV6. On the Defender and the TD5 disco everything gets done at least one a year - diffs, gearboxes, transfer box etc

Yeah I’m one of those freaks that never sells they’re old car! Got a 2000 Defender, 2003 disco, a 2014 disco and a 1984 Range Rover!

Nothing is sealed for life! TD5 diffs are a 10 minute job what do you mean?
 
Look at how long they say the oil changes should be...:D:D

I’ve never looked I just change them often! Some of the modern vehicles coming out now are saying things like gearboxes and diffs are sealed for life. Our 2004 transit reckons it’s gearbox is sealed for life! I suppose it depends on their definition of life

Yes and you mentioned to look about diff oil intervals - id already said I do mine often so I’m not interested in it other than the fact you mentioned it so though “ I wonder what the interval is meant to be for the td5’s”. I’m not trying to get free information it doesn’t matter if it’s 10k or 150k mine gets done every year.

I mentioned sealed for life because they probably are on the D4, but again I dont care because it gets done.
 
@tom1979 Clean off the cream and have a look underneath at the rockers and see if they have cream on them.
Is the oil on your dipstick clean or creamy, as that's a better clue as to what's going on.
Condensation is the most likely on short journeys where the engine doesn't get warm, so take her out for a 20-30 mile run.

Thanks. Only a few months ago I did the injector loom and all looked very normal, oil looks clean on dipstick. I’ll be keeping an eye on it for a while

Like oldseadog said condensation,had a golf gti a few years back with the same creamy residue in oil filler,took it too a vw specialist who asked what journeys I was doing in it told approx two miles each way to work and back he says there's your problem engine not getting up to temp,give it an Italian tune up every now and then and all will be ok
