Hey there, quick bit of history. 1974 series 3, SWB 2 and a quarter litre diesel.
Runs great, and recently passed MOT with no major issues after replacing the shocks all around, brand new springs all around and the rear crossmember has been cut off and replaced with a pristine new one (old one was badly corroded)
The "creaking" sounds were present before but only noticeable during green laning at angles which put pressure more on the rear. I doubt its a problem just want to make sure, better safe than sorry?
My theory is that its the springs themselves bending and stretching, or the rear spring hangars moving back and forth as the springs lengthen and shorten.
Anyone else had the same sounds or any clue as to the real culprit (if there is one)
Cheers - Wayne
