hey, just wanted to see if anyone can help me out with a crazy issue I have on my 53 disco 2, the central locking won't work on the key buttons unless the key is either in a lock/ignition or whether the key is just touching the car. If it's touching all works great, not touching then there's not even a blip or anything, any ideas???

sounds like the rf isnt transmitting that well so most likely cause battery needs replacing

Make sure to use a good quality battery, the cheapos are absolute rubbish.

Don't suppose you have a spare key fob to try??

It had a new battery when the AAguy came to it but maybe worth trying a new one .

No the little one chewed it and damaged it, so good bye to that one:/

Is the little red light showing on the fob when you press the button?

Open the fob and check the brand of the battery. AA may have used crap from the pound shop.

I'll crack it open and have a look at it, I think I may have a spare kicking around.
