Underthe starter motor at front of engine.

Held by 5mm allen key bolt.

You may need to use a 5mm in small ratchet to remove it but can be done without taking starter out. Disconnect battery in case you short out wires in starter by mistake!!

As above you will need a small/medium ratchet with the 5mm Allen key bit, couple of photos to show you where on the engine it actually is good luck, of cause you will have the starter to cope with as this engine was on a pallet.

And, make sure new one is seated properly with O ring in recess and sensor fully home or it does weird things like limits revs at 3k!!!
And may leak oil too.

Is it hidden behind the starter?

It will be adjacent to the bottom bolt on the starter as in the photos below, not easy to get to, you could always remove the starter which will give you chance to check the contacts and plunger in the starter, most need changing at about 75,000 -100,000 miles anyways.

Hi guys I pulled the crankshaft sensor out then realized the one I'd ordered wasn't the right one so put the old one back in. Now car won't start at all. Anyone have any ideas as to why?

If it is seated flat and o ring is in the recess and connector is on firmly then either the sensor has given up or, nor likely, you have a broken wire to the connector that may be the original problem!!
