Hello All,

I have a Freelander 2004 and live up on the Isle of Skye... or misty Isle as some call it.

I'm hoping for some help/advice.

Today I heard a strange noise when driving and so opened up the bonnet and found the flexible line to the EGR valve to be cracked.
Any suggestions on how to solve this. I prefer to do things myself if I can but sometimes I know I have to go to the garage. I want to block off the EGR line eventually anyway, I've just ordered the EGR blanking.

Thanks in advance!!!!

The flexible section is on the exhaust recirc pipe before the EGR valve. I can't even find this whole pipe online anywhere

I would go with blanking it too either buy a full delete kit, loads on ebay, or make a blanking plate to put between the broken pipe and the exhaust manifold. basically copy the gasket but with no hole in the middle. then remove the vacuum pipe to the egr to disable it and blank the vac pipe off

How easy is it to access the branch pipe to the exhaust pipe? I understand what your saying, it makes sense thanks for the advice! :) Its just the location of this pipe that is the issue. I can only follow the pipe back so far then it disappears behind the engine.

unfortunately you have to follow it around the back and remove stuff that's in the way

Ahh... great. Cheers. Just one more quick question. Does the exhaust recirc line come direct from engine exhaust or after the turbine from the turbo. Cheers!!
