Hi All,

I really would like to bring back my 2001 HSE to the UK in a few years.

It has a new engine from Turners and things are almost 95% on it.

Now, I've driven LHD cars in UK and didn't find too much trouble, but what if I converted to RHD?

I can think of:

  • Steering box and links
  • Headlights
I'd leave the door locks alone.

What else is there?

Is it too much trouble to be worth it?

Please help me decide ...

ABS system?
ecu/fuse box?
Interior- dashboard and centre console electrics etc is becm located different?
Im just guessing at the above

I forgot ther dash - I'd probably get a wrecked P38 for bits like that.

BECM is in the same place.

Not sure about the ABS?

Forget it, I drive RHD in France no problem, equally it's no problem to drive LHD in the UK. Otherwise sell in France, they make high prices here.

You mean there are people in Spain that have the cash to buy a second hand Rangie? Plenty to buy new ones but the rest are unemployed:rolleyes:

Don't know, but i do know secondhand cars are bloody expensive there. Sons father in laws Merc that he came here to buy and took back would have been several thousand Euros more over there. Or so he said.

That's why I bought the P38 in the UK, paid £4850 for a car that would have cost me €12000 in France with moon rocket miles. Same went for the Transit, about £2500 in UK €10K in France. Crazy.:)

Can you still bring a RHD car into France and legalise it?
Depends where it was first registered, if the car has a European/UK VIN, no problem at all, otherwise can be difficult.
By the by, I can tell you how to convert your headlamps at no cost for UK.
