Hello all, I'm thinking about a project for the few days off work over Christmas:
I've noticed when wading through any more than a couple of inches of water the ignition light comes on for a few seconds. Obviously water splashes onto the pulleys making the belt slip a little. I'm thinking about making a plastic cover that will loosely fit over the crank, water pump and power steering pulleys to protect them a bit from water thrown up. I have an old plastic car underbody tray that I plan to cut and bend into shape. It will be supported from the timing case (old AC fixing point) and chassis. I don't have a fan/shroud so there's plenty of room. It's a Disco 200 in a 1985 90".
Anyone ever made anything similar? Is it a waste of time?
