Hi peter,

Mine is a MY01 Td4 5 drs, my driver's door lock also sometimes won't unlock (doorknob remains in the door) by pressing once the keyfob knob, when I press a second time (to unlock all doors) I see the knob of the driver's door coming out rather slowly. This happens, as far as I can think of, only in winter (cold) periods. I think something not working freely inside the doormechanism but as it didn't bother me that much so far I can live with it. As for the sliding sunroof, my right hand side slide mechanism also broke off earlier this year, the plastic part which takes the rails along when sliding open/close was broken, so I fixed it more or less with a piece of thin wire and a Parker screw (it works again as I tried it once) but from that moment on I won't open it anymore, only if needed I have the rear tilt up but I wont slide it open anymore, but who needs an open sunroof with the very performant :D AC we have in the Hippo ??
Good luck and take care.

My wife has same model as you and it takes 3 goes on fob to unlock rear doors and has done since we got it. Go carefully with sunroof as can be real pig if gets stuck. My wifes sunroof used to leak water on to drivers seat if car parked downhill. Opened it one day to see if I could find problem to find various bits of mechanism and frame badly rusted and needing lot of attention. Having taken care of that with rust-cure etc. then had same problem as you with drivers side slide and bloody thing wouldn't shut. Eventually had to use screwdriver to push in retractable support as roof closed. Answer in end was to seal around glass to stop leak and take out sunroof fuse to stop anyone opening it by accident!

Hi gmp,

Take out the fuse for the sunroof (fuse #12 15Amps) might be a good idea if I forget by accident about it. That's the first thing I'll do when I will try to open it, of course that way it will be impossible to use the tiltposition as well.
Something new I noticed today is that the lamp in the radiodisplay is broken, in the past I opened this display already as sometimes the display only shows some bits and pieces of the clock/radiostation, mainly the far right digits suffer of it the most, while open I saw that the lamp in it is of a special shape which means I'll have to pass to the dealer in order to get one like that (if it can be acquired separetely of course).
But besides that, the Hippo is, since day 1 a dream to be on the road with. Both my wife and I wouldn't swop it for whatever car. Our previous car, a Mercedes 190E (which is not one of the least) was by far not as comfortable and pleasant to drive as the Hippo. A 120 km trip with it gave my wife already backache where with the Hippo she can do a 600 km daytrip without any backache at all. I just hope the reliability of the Hippo will match the Mercedes (200.000+ km with no real pblms, knowing this was a petrol engine, not a diesel) as for the rest it is, imo, superior to it (at least for us).
Ciao.

Hi

I had this problem with the central locking. If you look in the manual you can easily reset the remote ( I think you have to press it several times within a certain timelimit) and hey presto - works ok again. If you can't find it let me know and I'll look it up (I'm not going out to the car now, it's peeing down!) Don't know about sunroof - sorry.

thanks for reply,i took the rear pass unit off and replaced with an ebay special and hey presto!!it now works on second push of remote like other pass doors, the drivers will lock and clicks to unlock so i presume it is a dicky lock mech so will try and source one ,2 down sunroof to go any help on this welcome
cheers
