Just done about 100 miles in the torrential rain. Just as I pulled off the motorway my wipers failed:eek:

All fuses ok. Relay clicking

Started to limp home last couple of miles on a side road, hit a bump and hey presto wipers back?? :) I was running them at mental speed after I left the motorway, so I guess they jumped off a cog or sumat

That Rain X stuff works well when its torrential, so you dont need the wipers on. I got a big journey coming up soon so i will splash the stuff on before i leave..

Yeah that's good stuff, only apply it to clean dry windscreens. :)

i had window wipers fail in a work van ages ago and i did the old tale of rubbing a cut potatoe over the windscreen. It worked a treat in emergency

Yeah I do, an Albert Bartlet rooster one, then whatever the emergency I can have mash, chips, boiled or whatever. Goes well with me spud gun to.

I was told of the potato trick as a callow moped rider. The resultant mix of mist, potato starch and dirt was almost impossible to see through at might.
Never met anyone it worked for and assumed it was old boys taking the ****.

all pretty good stuff..
