Yes ,but do carry some spare fuel filters,as bio and to certain extent veg oil have a habit of loosening all the crap that has accumulated in the tank and fuel lines from derv use and dumping it in your filter-you will know when it needs changing :D
Also if this cold snap carries on ,keep at least some percentage of derv in your mix and check your glow plugs are good.

Lol, yep first time I ever saw it happen, I thought that guys nuts, i can still remember it and it was years ago guy came out of tesco's in barrow put all his shopping in the boot apart from 3 bottles of oil and put them into the tank of his old 5 series. I thought he's lost it and waited for him to break down before he got off the car park but he just drove off.

This cold snap .......?

Does this work for all diesel engines ie non Land Rover. I don't yet have a land rover but talking to my brother in law he was keen to do this in a 2004 bmw diesel engine. Good idea or not .... ?
 
You can't use it in any diesel. Only the older ones from what I understand. Even then they can gum up a bit. I have noticed a slight change when starting.

I wouldn't. I have a 2003 Audi Diesel and i wouldn't risk it in that.

No good on common rail injector systems on modern engines unless you use a pre heat system older engines are fine but only if it has a bosch pump lucas pumps break.:)

For the reason quoted above. I have thought along the lines of a thinner mix like you. But when does the risk outway the possible problems?? Not worth it.
